Resident of Orlando, Florida and former front man of a successful but talentless label-generated pop boy band, Jump Kick, Chad Sewell was in an accident that left his girlfriend in a coma for three months, and left permanent scars across his face and chest. A career as a teen idol now over, Chad withdrew from society in a deep depression and spent hours daily playing guitar. When he emerged, he was a virtuoso musician, but found it difficult to garner a fan base due to his appearance, and more difficult to keep the focus on his music and not his appearance. After another period of seclusion, he reemerged as an anonymous musician named Guitar, the thing with which his whole identity had been bound up. Performing solo with his face covered and a guitar named Chad, he found a new cult following and earned modest success fromt hence forward.
